Excess Flood Insurance

Excess flood insurance is a type of insurance policy that provides additional coverage for losses or damages caused by floods beyond what is covered by a standard flood insurance policy. It is designed for individuals who live in areas at high risk of floods and have high insurance needs. Excess flood insurance policies have higher coverage limits and typically provide coverage for items such as contents of the home, temporary living expenses, and additional structures such as garages, sheds, or swimming pools. This type of insurance policy is meant to supplement a standard flood insurance policy, and it can be purchased in addition to a standard flood insurance policy to increase the overall protection against flood losses. Excess flood insurance is generally provided by private insurance companies and is not backed by the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
